GBS Li-ion batteries cells demonstrate the highest safety performance in the industry. Phosphate based chemistry is well accepted as the safest Li-ion battery chemistry in the industry. The safety valves can pop open under extreme conditions, to quickly release internal cell pressure, and thus prevent cells from catching fire. Tests have been conducted to confirm cells do not catch fire or explode even in abusive conditions, such as nail penetration, short circuiting, over-charging, over-discharging, over-temperature, crushing, dropping, etc.


GBS cells are designed as large format cells with available capacities of:


  • 20AH
  • 40AH
  • 60AH
  • 100AH
  • 200AH


Large format cells greatly simplify pack formation. The result is a greatly reduced cost.


GBS Li-ion batteries cells exhibit characteristics of high energy density, low self-discharge rate and long cycle life. The standard cycle life is > 2000 at 80% DOD.


Cell terminals are molded into the battery casing, which eliminate the possibility of bad seals or electrolyte leaks. The square terminal structure provides more surface area and reduces contact resistance.


Each jumper connection to a cell terminal is secured using 4 screws, which provides a much more robust connection. Jumpers are made of silver plated copper bars to achieve maximum conductivity, with a high resistance to corrosion.


GBS cells are designed to accommodate EMS sense boards. The sense boards (from a distributed BMS system) can be easily installed on top of the terminals and jumpers.

The Gen III 200Ah cells have terminals on the opposite ends. This unique design offers the following benefits:







  • Large format Li-ion batteries with scalable battery cell design
  • Higher current capability because of a more uniform current distribution (minimizing current crowding effect; delivers 100% capacity even at 4.5C)
  • Better temperature performance, especially under sub-zero temperature (capable of delivering ~90% of capacity at -20C).
