Per United States Department of Transportation and United Nations regulations Lithium Ion Batteries are classified as Class 9 miscellaneous dangerous goods. As a result there are special shipping requirements and costs associated. Elite Power Solutions is a certified US DOT Dangerous Goods shipper per CFR49 Regulations. Please note that due to these regulations we are unable to ship batteries through the postal service and as a result we are unable to ship batteries to APO and FPO addresses. Unregulated items such as battery chargers can however be shipped to these addresses.

For domestic shipment, if the overall weight is less than 150 lbs, UPS ground will be used as primary method; if overall weight is over 150 lbs, the lowest cost freight carrier will be chosen through our various freight carriers.

UPS shipments of lithium ion batteries require special packaging and shipping documents. The shipping cost is the actual ground cost plus a flat $25 per box Dangerous Goods Fee. Packagings have specific weight limits so multiple boxes may be required for certain shipments depending on the number of batteries being shipped. In some circumstances it will be less expensive to bill the minimum freight cost than to use UPS Ground for small packages. Expedited shipping services are also available through UPS. These packages can only be shipped in cargo only aircraft. If you have an urgent need please contact us for more information and pricing on expedited shipping services. Please be aware that these services will be costly and some larger cells may not be shippable via air due to the weight limitations of single packages.

Freight shipments will be used when the shipping weight is over 150lbs or when the cost is less than using standard UPS Ground. Please specify when ordering if your shipping address is commercial or residential and if a lift gate will be required to move the pallet from the truck to the ground. Residential deliveries will be assessed $40 over the commercial delivery price and liftgate deliveries will be assessed $30 over the base commercial delivery price. All freight shipment which contains batteries will be assessed a $5 Dangerous Goods fee. This is a flat fee per shipment.

Please contact us for shipments to Alaska or Hawaii. UPS Ground with Dangerous Goods service is not available to Alaska or Hawaii. UPS 2nd Day Air service is the only small package service available to these areas. The Dangerous Goods fee for these shipments is $35 per box in addition to the 2nd Day air charges. Freight service may available to these areas, but transit times will be long. Some of these shipments can be arranged as a pick up at dock to reduce costs. We ship to all states in the United States and overseas. Shipping cost varies based on weight and destination zip code. We will use the lowest cost freight carrier based on real time quotation or standard UPS Ground (whichever cost is lower). If you have made payment through our website by using paypal, we will rebill you for the amount of actual shipping cost; If you choose to use wiring transfer or check, you will get an invoice from us by email including shipment cost. Or you can always e-mail us to place your order, and we will send you a quotation including shipping cost. Your order will not be shipped until we have received full payment.

A back-ordered product is a product that is temporarily out of stock. You will know a product is back-ordered prior to ordering if you see a message (in red) on the product detail page during the order process at our website. If a product you have already ordered becomes back-ordered, an e-mail notification will be sent to you. After receiving this e-mail, you can choose to wait for the item or cancel your order. Backorders remain active for 60 days. If back-ordered items are not available within 60 days, they are automatically cancelled. Five (5) days before it is scheduled to cancel, you will receive an e-mail asking you whether you would like your back-order to be extended.

You may cancel your order if your item has not been shipped. However you will be charged a 6% cancellation fee. If you want to cancel your order after order has been shipped, you will be charged for return shipping and 15% restocking fee.
